Tourist Attractions

If you are of a gambling age, Montana is one of the few states that has legalized gambling. In the state of Montana, it is not nearly as flashy as it is in Las Vegas as there are slots in every laundromat, Kentucky Fried Chicken, gas station and truck stop all throughout the state. There are very few stand alone casinos although all of them will claim themselves to be a casino none the less.

The Big Stack is one of the first tourist attractions you see when you come into Montana. It can be seen miles before you reach Anaconda, where it is actually located. It was once the largest working smoke stack in the country and is large enough to stand the Washington Monument in. For years, it would smoke out arsenic and lead over the people of the town until it was shut down in 1980.

Our Lady of the Rockies is located high up in the mountains of butte Montana. It is over ninety feet tall and can be seen all throughout Butte. She is the biggest statue of the Madonna in all of America. If you want to see it up close, there is a local church that will take you on the two hour bus ride to get there.

For those crazed health nuts out there, there is a place between Boulder and Basin Montana called the Healthful Springs were people come from all over the world to sit in abandoned uranium mines in hopes of improving their arthritis, asthma, or hormone imbalances. People will sit down these abandoned mines hoping to be healed by the powers of the uranium. There is a little gift shop in which you can purchase items that are supposed to also be beneficial to take home such as uranium pillows and other unique keepsakes, such as, for example Photo books and Fotogeschenke. You can create a photo book or photo gift itself. Just go to the website of Berlin photo book and download the software.
